Get excited

There are 26 days until Christmas but it has felt like Christmas everyday this week! The mail man loves me, how do I know this? He has brought me a package everyday! The only problem I have with him is that they aren't the packages I am dying to have. I ordered a bunch of stuff from pampered chef and its taking for ever to get here and I ordered live mistletoe (it came) and a live holly wreath but it is apparently back ordered, which makes me very sad because I was very excited about getting it and hanging it up. Also the ball is this weekend! I was very excited about going but now it feels more like a hassle. My dress got altered and is now too short so Charlene lent me one of hers but my bra doesn't work with it and Kevin's pants are too long. It is just not a good week for clothes in our house. Oh well, we will still be the best looking couple there.

Eat and Eat and Eat and Eat Some More

Wednesday night K and I went downtown to see the fireworks, We didn't make it in time to see any of the light displays get turned on, which means we didn't get any hot cocoa or Christmas treats and I was very upset about that. We both enjoyed the firework show. At first it started off looking like it was going to be a disappointment but ended up being good enough that I have decided it will be a new tradition. Thursday we started off our Thanksgiving the right right way, with cinnamon rolls and mimosas. Our first stop of the day was at 12 at my Nana's house were we enjoyed a big Thanksgiving dinner for lunch. After lunch we had picture time! Last year we were the rejects and couldn't stay long enough for pictures but this year there was no way I was missing pictures. I'll post those once they are finished. At 3:30 we made our way to our next stop. Kevin's grandma had a big Thanksgiving prepared as well. Kevin enjoyed another big meal. I was still very full from the first meal so I didn't eat very much but what I did have was delicious. At 7:00 we made our way to yet another Thanksgiving, this time opting to only nibble here and there. Friday morning (very late morning) I went out and did a tiny bit of shopping then came home and worked on putting up some Christmas decorations. In the afternoon we headed over to Kevin's mom's house for Thanksgiving dinner with her. If you're keeping count we are at four dinners and still have one more to go to. On Sunday we will finish our Thanksgivings at my dad's. This year I am Thankful we were able to spread them out and only miss a couple because there is no way we would be able to make it to them all in one day.

Bringing the garland all the way over was Kevin's idea because it was too long to just hang .

Kevin told me he would not help decorate the tree at all except for putting the angel on top because that is the most important job of all and it will forever be his job.

Kevin made fun of my nutcracker but you have to have one at Christmas so I said he stays.

This year there will be no treats in here because we are on diets.

Christmas Time is Here Part 2

After getting to Target and ordering a delicious lunch (popcorn!) we headed to the Christmas sorry I mean Holiday area we finally found the Christmas Holiday lights aisle and spending ten minutes going through all the lights we found not a single box of the brand I was looking for. Then we had the best idea ever to use one of the apps on Kevin's phone to scan the bar-code and find out where these lights are sold. After spending about five minutes trying to get the app to work Kevin noticed the 'Big Lots' sticker on it. So off to Big Lots we went to yet again not find a single box. We did find some motion lights made by the same brand so in one last effort we went to the Big Lots in New Haven. There we found tons of the lights I wanted! After spending three hours trying to find my lights we finally made it home and I started to put them on my tree. That was a major fail! I blew a fuse. How was I supposed to know you can't hook up eight strands of lights together? I had to take all the lights off the tree and Kevin had to find and fix the strand with the now broken fuse. Did I mention when the lights went out we had no idea what had happened and had to call my mom for help? Yeah that happened. It took forever but all the lights (17 strands) are on the tree and it is waiting for me to start adding ornaments. That I will start tonight and hopefully finish by Thanksgiving.

The lights are finally on!

Christmas Time is Here

Last night I started to put up my Christmas tree. I got about this far and ran out of lights. So as soon as Kevbot gets out of the shower we are off to Target to try to find more. I want to use all the exact same brand and type otherwise they won't match and it will drive me insane so wish us luck.

Kevin 2. Moles 0.

Its War!
Earlier in the summer Kevin declared war on the moles. At first he stomped down all their tunnels and then he stuck the garden hose in their holes and tried to flood them out but when those didn't work he decided they must die and got a trap. After about 2 days Kevin's trap got a mole. Then for a while the war got quiet but this week it started up again and took 1 day for the trap to get its next victim. Kevin is proud of his victories and I feel really bad they had to die.

How to entertain your facebook creepers......

..... aka how to make your own chocolate syrup. On an average day our blog gets about 10-15 views and on a really good day maybe about 20 views.(I only sent the link to very close friends and family and since I don't know a lot of Kevin's family or have a way to contact them I  told him to give it out to his family. Kevin has been very bad about giving anyone the link so if you are a part of Kevin's family or even mine and you think someone would like to read the blog feel free to give them the link) Last night Kevin sent the link to the blog to his sister over facebook and within 30 minutes the view count shot up to about 55 and today we have had over 80 views! So I hope all you facebook creepers enjoy reading my ramblings.

Today I attempted to make my own chocolate syrup. I say attempted not because it didn't turn out but because it just needs to be tweaked a bit. The recipe I used called for a ton of sugar and it tastes just a bit too sugary for me and Kevin. I think it needs more cocoa powder and less sugar.

First mix together cocoa powder and water. Bring to boil.
Stir constantly. (Kevin's way of helping is to completely take over for a few minutes then become uninterested until its time to do something new.)
Once it starts to boil add sugar and let it boil at a full rolling boil for  3 minutes.

Let it cool completely.

Fill an old Hersheys bottle.

Enjoy a glass of chocolate milk.

(Yes, I know I did not add any measurements. If you want the original recipe let me know or you can wait until I tweak it and make it taste even better)

Happy Veterans Day

Lately everybody I know posts one thing a day to say what they are thankful for. I won't bore you with 25 days of what I'm thankful for, I'll just give you one day of thankfulness. Today I am very thankful for the many man and women in our military.

Nothing New

Kevin is back and really busy so I don't really have anything to write about this week. The most exciting thing    thats happened is I made about 300 mini pancakes and froze them so now I will have breakfast everyday for at least a month or two. And Kevin got me a recycle bin!! I am super excited about that!!

We have been thinking for about a month that I killed this plant because it started to wilt then turn brown but last night I noticed it has a flower!!!
This is the table/shelf thing Kevin made me.
Natalie and I did this super cute project for Halloween. I was impressed that it turned out so well since she is only two.
