I have been a busy busy girl this past week! I worked late everyday and I know to some people 4:45 does not seem like a long day but when you get up 5 am that extra hour feels more like an extra ten hours. Blah! Monday I got up a little bit earlier than normal to get dinner started and put in the crock pot. It did not turn out! I was so upset, it is a recipe I have made probably 10 times or so and every time it has turned out just fine. I did everything the exact same except that I used one of Kevin's crock pots instead of mine. I didn't think it would make a big difference but maybe it did, oh well. Tuesday night I made homemade healthy organic fudgesicles. According to K they were "BOMB!". They were so good it only took us like three days to eat all 12 of them. Thursday I spent all day cleaning the house, which needs done again now thanks to my big ideas. Friday I spent the day with one of my best friends for some much needed girl time, Friday night K and I went to New Haven's homecoming football game with a few of his friends. They had all kinds of cool things going on at homecoming that left us wondering if they hated us because when we were in high school we never had anything like that. They had skydivers. Yes you read that right, skydivers. They also had their own rap song made for them. The most we ever had was the local news crew showing up to film a little bit of the game. Saturday K and I ran some errands in the morning then I decided I wanted to make another batch or two of applesauce, so K and I headed over to the local apple orchard. We ended up deciding to buy the pre-picked ones instead of picking our own mostly because I was wearing my good shoes, K had to do a funeral in a few hours, and the Johnathan apples weren't available to be picked by hand. I bought a half bushel of Johnathan and a half bushel of golden delicious. (We found out we prefer the Johnathan) Yes, that is A LOT of apples!! I thought it would only get me two maybe three batches of applesauce. What was I thinking? Needless to say we will now have a crap load of applesauce! (about 3 gallons and I still have apples to do) I peeled so many apples that my hand actually bruised from it. (I would post a pic but y camera is out of battery life and K lost the cord to charge it) K said I'm just too delicate and am not cut out for the hard working life.
In other news I got an amazing deal, thanks to groupon, on these fun candles. Each candle is eco-friendly and has a ring inside. (The ring can be worth anywhere from $5-$5000! If it was a really cheap one it would say made in
insert country here and if it was worth around $100 or more it would say the karat amount on it.) I ordered four and so far have burned three of them down enough to get the ring out. Unfortunately none of them were big winners but at least they didn't say made in china on them so I am guessing they are just nice costume jewelry. K and I are really hoping my last one is a big winner! How nice would it be to win one worth $5000? The gnat problem has decreased to only seeing a couple flying around a day! I would like to think it is because of my precious little pets. The sundew actually caught more than the other 3 plants put together, I was so proud. one of the venus flytraps has caught a lot also, but the other flytrap pot looks kind of sad and hasn't caught very many and the stupid butterwort has caught nothing except the one bug K killed and "fed" to it.
