We have been pretty busy these days, but we have finally done enough work that the house is no longer a disaster and is somewhat put together. The only room needed any actual construction is the kitchen still. All we need is for the cabinet doors to be put on, the dishwasher to be installed differently, and the drawers to be painted and then put it. After that we just need to clean put the spare rooms and get them put together and we are finished. Kevin and I are still pretty much on different schedules so it makes it hard to find time to work on things.
Last weekend we went out to an organic plant sale and bought a bunch of things for our garden and then last night we went out and unplanted everything because the weather decided to be freezing cold again and we didn't want to risk stunting anything. While we were plant shopping we also bought two peach trees and they will be the first trees planted in our mini orchard! We have a very large yard (although we wish it was bigger) and we plan to utilize it. We have decided that if we can't eat it, it doesn't feed the bees, or if it doesn't bring any profit then it has to go. Whats the point in having a large yard if it is just yard? Having a plot of mowed grass isn't really doing us or the environment any good so we will slowly be transforming the yard. Out with the useless and in with the useful. I keep praying that the city will change the laws and allow backyard chickens and then this house would be perfect and we wouldn't ever have to move. Also if you or anyone you know would like some lily of the valley I have a ton of plants I would like to part with, I need it gone so my lavender can be purchased and planted.
