Is it fall already?

It sure does smell like fall in our house. Yesterday we went to pick apples and Kevin even got his younger sister to go with us! We picked 4 bushels and it only took 30 minutes and Kevin picked about 3 bushels by himself! Then we came home and Kevin took Kimberly home and went to a funeral. Then I met up with Kevin we went to another funeral and then to the army's family day and then finally back home. To start on apple butter? Nope. First we had to clean the kitchen because on Friday night we made and canned 7 pints of pasta sauce. We peeled apples forever and then my mom came over and helped peel apples. We finally had enough apples peeled around 9:45 pm. Then I got them cooking in five, yes that's right five, crock pots and went to bed. In the morning I gave them a stir and went to church and when I came home the house smelled so good! Today I broke out the food processor I got for Christmas to blend it all down and make it smooth then I canned all of it but a few scoops Kevin used to taste test. Then we went and bought a deep freezer from a guy Kevin found an craigs list so hopefully it works well. Then we stopped at menards and bought a shelving unit for the garage so we have a place to store all our caned goods and now we are finally home and resting. Its been a very busy weekend for us and did I mention I'm sick. I blame Kevin since he made me do the insanity work out and I was so tired and sore it lowered my germ fighting defenses. We did the workouts every day except Friday and Saturday since we were so busy and I'm thankful for the time off of it so I could get a bit of rest, tomorrow we will be back at it.

On Thursday Charlene dropped Aaron off at our house to try it out since I have to pick Natalie up from preschool just down the street from our house. She thought if it worked out with him here it would save me some gas. It went pretty well. It took him about 30 minutes to feel comfortable and then he was fine except when Silas was licking him. Eventually Silas stopped and by the time we left to get Natalie they were best friends.

All our apples

If you text me during canning season and ask me what I'm doing you will probably get a picture response similar to this. (I actually sent this to my friend Erica when she asked me what I was up to)
