My fingers will never be the same

My fingers are pretty much stained purple. On Wednesday I went back to the blueberry patch for another 15 pounds of berries. I got there around 8:30 and was finished picking by 11. This time you could pick anywhere in the patch and when I checked in the lady told me the best ones were in the front rows and very back rows. For some reason everyone there was picking in one area so I ventured to the very back. They don't seem to do as much upkeep back there. There were thistles taller than me and the grass was just under my knees and the branches were all over grown into the paths. Yeah, I was basically picking in a blueberry jungle. (On Thursday Aubrey was giving me a makeover when she found something in my hair. A tick. never picking in the back again) When I was checking out I talked with the ladies running the check out about some things they had on their website but I didn't see anywhere around the patch. I really wanted a bottle of raw honey. They said they only sell that at the winery, so off to the winery I went. (it was on my way home anyway) The winery was very nice and since I was there I figured I would buy a bottle. I asked the lady there which of the sweet wines were popular and she gave me a free wine tasting. Score! I ended up tasting 7 wines, buying one bottle of white, and one bottle of honey. Then I went home and made more jam.

Start with berries

Grate apple peels

Try to fill 3 of these

Boil

Get a chair to make it easier to reach

Have a 'helper'

AN hour later still boiling

Fill jars

It syas pure honey so I'm thinking its not entirely raw

We need a bigger bed. He takes up an entire side
